The Traverse City Ticker reports that an elderly woman living in Glen Arbor was stuck in her garage for a full day after falling. She was unable to get back to the house to reach a phone and call for help. She did not have any kind of medical alert system.
Luckily for the woman, someone was thinking about her and called the sheriff to report that she hadn’t been seen or heard from in a while.
According to the article, Leelanau County Sheriff Mike Borovich “reminds seniors to try and have a cell phone with them at all times so they have a means of communication if they are away from their land line.”
